Susan Boyle got beat out by Dance Group

Monday, June 1, 2009

Heavily favored singing sensation Susan Boyle didn't get to live the dream she dreamed in the final.

Boyle, 48, lost Britain's Got Talent to a wild and crazy dance group called Diversity.

For the finals she stayed true to the tune that made her a world wide Internet phenom and sang song that made her a YouTube sensation, "I Dreamed a Dream" from the musical Les Miserables.

Millions voted by telephone after Saturday’s live telecast which Boyle had long been expected to win.

But like so many elections many didn’t vote because they thought Boyle winning would be failed accomplishment.

Last week Boyle began to crack under the pressure, lashing out at fans and critics alike with a sharp Scottish tongue laced with expletives.

"You had the guts to come back here and face your critics, and you beat them," judge Simon Cowell told Boyle after the finale.

Boyle may have lost the competition but she won the hearts of the world and is expected to launch a recording career

"I hope to get an album out, who knows? I'll just play it by ear. My journey has been unbelievable, very humbling," Boyle said after wishing winning lads Diversity “luck”.

Just like American Idol this year the people you think should win or are going to win have been all beating out by the underdog.
