Funny man Dom DeLuise died at age 75

Famed funny man Dom DeLuise, 75, has passed away last night.
Rotund sidekick of Mel Brooks in such films as Silent Movie, Robin Hood:Men in Tights and Blazing Saddles as the fey director, Dom also saddled up for the Cannonball Run flicks with pal Burt Reynolds.

The Brooklyn born comic launched his TV career back in the 1950s appearing as a bumbling private detective on the Shari Lewis Show along with puppet Lamb Chop.Amidst his comic capers onscreen Dom was also a renowned gourmet chef and had authored several cook books. Both sons Michael and Peter are active director/actors and all three DeLuises appeared in episodes of Stargate and Sea Quest together.
"I'm actually a thin serious person but I play fat and funny, but only for the movies," Dom once said.
Dom passed last night at a Los Angeles hospital in his sleep. Many family and friends have gathered to wish him goodbye.
