Burger King controversy again!
Tuesday, April 21, 2009
Again burger is in the spot light for there advertisements. The first commercials that got controversy were there “Whopper Virgin” campaign which got thousands of complaints from parents and viewers from across the globe.
Again Burger King puts there commercials in the spotlight by advertising a kids program “Sponge Bob Square Pants” and an 80’s sensation Sir Mix A-lot who we all know loves Ass!
The parents are not liking the fact that BK has introduced the two together, saying “ It may come across friendly, but playing “baby’s got back” to children under 12 is not appropriate”- Says parent
Another view says “This is wrong and disgusting on many levels. Trying to make it funny or not, this obviously is targeted to the wrong age group”- Says concerned parent
Parents are also not liking the fact there are girls dancing in the video while the BK KING seems like "the pimp" They believe this is not a commercial for children.
BK has not made any statements on whether they will pull the ad or not. Sir Mix A-lot appears in the commercial at the end with his “bitches” and they are consider just cutting him out of the commercial rather then banning the whole ad campaign
I personally love the commercial, I hate Sponge Bob, but I like Sir Mix A-lot. As for pulling the ad we will just have to wait and see. It seems now a day anyone can get offended by anything. All I have to say to that is…..
BABY’S GOT BACK!
